Kuwait City - MENA Herald:

COFE App, a Kuwait-based coffee-centric marketplace app, announced today that it was recently chosen by Facebook as one of the four startups in the MENA region that will join its one-year guidance program dedicated to support startups.

COFE App’s selection by Facebook came as a result of the startup’s strong potential and rapid growth in the market. Through this program, Facebook will guide COFE App in developing a digital business strategy through a series of capacity building opportunities. Designed specifically for COFE App, the Kuwait based startup will measure its customer insights through the incremental effects of Facebook. In addition, the program will provide COFE App with cross border business solutions and advisory to maximize the startup’s return on investment.

Conceptualized in Kuwait and developed in Silicon Valley, COFE App connects coffee house chains and independent coffee roasters with coffee lovers via a seamless, easy, and efficient user-interface.

“Facebook selecting our app as one of the most promising startups to join its guidance program shows that our potential in integrating the international market is high. In 2018, we focused on developing an advanced user interface for our customers, provide high quality services, and penetrate the market in Kuwait with success. This year, we will be committed to make the best of this program aiming to penetrate other markets in the region and world wide. We believe that this opportunity will equip us with the right tools for our next growth journey,” said the Founder and CEO of COFE App, Ali Al-Ebrahim.

The initial meeting between COFE App and Facebook took place in Dubai on March 13, 2019 at an Executive Leadership Dinner organized by Facebook for selected startups. The meeting was attended by the Founder and CEO of COFE App, Ali Al-Ebrahim Managing Director of Facebook MENA, Ramez Shehadi and the first Saudi woman to work at Facebook, Samar Al-Sultan along with other top executives.

Facebook empowers and works with promising startups in the region by guiding them on the best practices of using social networks to support their business results through strategic digital marketing and communication initiatives.

COFE App has recently secured USD 3.2 million in its Pre-Series A funding, attracting a multi-national cross-sector base of entrepreneurs and venture capital (VC) funds from the Middle East and Silicon Valley.

The app was beta launched in February 2018. Since then, the app has been featured in Forbes Middle East annual list of “Top 50 startups to watch for in the Arab world” and was chosen among the most promising 100 Arab Start Ups by The Arab Youth Centre in Dubai, UAE.
