Rotana hosts its annual conference in Abu Dhabi

Dubai - MENA Herald : Rotana, one of the leading hotel management companies in the region with hotels across the Middle East, Africa and Turkey, recently hosted its annual conference at Yas Island Rotana, Abu Dhabi. Held every year to celebrate employee achievements and share progress made towards key organisational targets, the 2017 Rotana Annual Conference was chaired by Nasser Al Nowais, Chairman of Rotana.
The three-day event saw top management executives and General Managers of Rotana properties in the Middle East, Africa & Turkey congregate at Yas Island Rotana to share performance reports, outline market trends and financial forecasts, and provide updates on company activities and business strategies to bring internal audiences up to speed on key developments within the organisation as well as its future direction.
Awards were given out in a number of different categories to recognise properties, teams and individuals that demonstrated outstanding performance and commitment to excellence in the past year. Winners of the awards for group achievement included Salalah Rotana Resort for ‘Hotel of the Year’, Centro Sharjah for ‘Top rotana.com Hotel Performer’, Al Ain Rotana which won the ‘Rotana Earth Award’ category for its contribution to promoting community and environmental sustainability, Centro Capital for ‘Hotel Opening of the Year’, and The Boulevard Arjaan by Rotana for ‘Hotel Achiever of the Year’. Other winners were Fujairah Rotana Resort & Spa in the ‘Chairman’s Award’ category for maintaining the highest percentage of local employees in its workforce among all Rotana hotels.
In the individual awards, Ursula Chidiac, general manager of Kin Plaza Arjaan by Rotana has received the ‘President’s Award’ and Ulrike Andorff, general manager of BurJuman Arjaan by Rotana, was named ‘Manager of the Year’ in recognition of his efforts in leading the property under his charge to exceed performance targets across key parameters. As always, the ‘Guest Service Champions of the Year’ awards – aimed at recognising and celebrating the achievements of guest service professionals across the portfolio – proved the highlight of the awards program.
“As the face of our brand, guest service professionals play a major role in shaping customer perceptions of service quality at our hotels and driving overall satisfaction. The value they bring to the business and the contribution they make to building long-term customer loyalty is often underappreciated, which is why we at Rotana, since our inception, have been determinedly striving to see to it that our guest service staff are accorded their rightful place in the organisation and are celebrated as the most important drivers of our business success,” said Nasser Al Nowais, Chairman of Rotana.
He added, “The ‘Guest Service Champions of the Year’ awards are an expression of our commitment to acknowledge and reward the achievements of guest service staff from across our operating properties, and I congratulate and thank all the winners this year for their hard work and dedication.”
Winners of the ‘Guest Service Champions of the Year – 2016’ included Nanako Nukui, Guest Services Team Leader, Al Ghurair Rayhaan and Al Ghurair Arjaan by Rotana, Dubai; Jolipher Delos Santos, Hostess in the Food & Beverage Department at Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, Abu Dhabi; Ebin Jose, Banquet Waiter at Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana, Dubai; Ibrahim Said, Front Office Team leader at Salalah Rotana Resort, Oman; and Fathima Simjee, Guest Services Team Leader at Oryx Rotana, Doha.
