Dubai - MENA Herald: The 3rd edition of Dubai Maritime Week kicks off tomorrow (Sunday, October 30th, 2016) under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. It will witness the participation of maritime industry leaders, decision-makers, and experts from the UAE and the rest of the world to discuss current challenges, international best practices, and innovative solutions to promote the competitiveness of the global maritime sector. The one-of-a kind regional event is of strategic importance in providing strong impetus to national and international efforts in establishing a strong foundation for boosting the maritime industry to keep up with the requirements of the 21st century.
The first day of Dubai Maritime Week 2016 will host world-class events such as the ‘UAE Maritime Leaders Seminar’ organized by the Dubai Maritime Cluster Office to throw the light on smart shipping and maritime innovations. The seminar will showcase the maritime sector’s advancements to new levels of growth and leadership in pace with the latest technological advances and under the leadership of national human resources displaying a high degree of efficiency, innovation and excellence. The agenda includes ‘Smart Maritime Navigation,’ ‘Advantages of Smart Maritime Navigation,’ ‘Role of Effective Communication in Promoting Smart Maritime Navigation and Development of Human Factor,’ and ‘Role of Smart Maritime Navigation in Shaping the Future of Maritime Sector,’ which will be delivered by international speakers from DNV GL Maritime Advisory, Rolls Royce, Transas, and Lloyd’s Register EMEA.

The 3rd edition of Dubai Maritime Week, a biennial event, will take place from October 30th to November 3rd, 2016. This year’s edition will feature a series of highly relevant international events, including the Dubai Maritime Summit, the UAE Maritime Leaders Seminar, Seatrade Maritime Middle East, the Global Shippers Forum, and the DMCA Partners Appreciation Gathering. They will all provide practical platforms for strengthening communication and international cooperation in order to build a clear industry roadmap, overcome obstacles, and optimize opportunities for a safe and sustainable international maritime community.
