Amman - MENA Herald:

As part of its ongoing efforts to increase the accessibility of card use in the Kingdom, Network International, a leading payment solutions provider in the Middle East and Africa, has provided a new Instant Issuance service to Arab Jordan Investment Bank (AJIB), a market leader in the use of new financial technology and catering to the evolving needs of customers.  AJIB customers will now be able to receive active bank cards instantly at their local branch.

With this new service, customers can request for a bank card, choose a PIN number, and then have the card produced for them immediately in-branch, rather than waiting for several days. Additionally, customers will be able to replace broken or lost cards without any delay.

“We are pleased to launch this service with AJIB, who are helping us achieve our goal of making banking services accessible to more people in Jordan,” said Amjad Al Sadeq, CEO of Network International Jordan. “Instant Issuance service is an easy and convenient way for Jordanians to get a bank card and benefit from sophisticated digital payment solutions. We at Network are committed to sharing our experience and expertise with the Jordanian banking sector, and to promoting the benefits of financial inclusion with the Jordanian people.”

“AJIB recognizes that technology is disrupting the financial services industry and our strategy is to provide banking solutions to Retail customers whilst minimizing friction at the delivery stage ”, said Shareef Sawalha, Head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management at AJIB. “The instant issuance capability affirms our commitment to provide world-class solutions to our customers. This new service will save time for existing customers and open opportunities to onboard new customers.”

Digital payments have been steadily growing in Jordan in recent years, as bank cards become more accessible and awareness of their benefits spreads. The increasing prevalence of digital payments, and the associated access to financial services and products, facilitates sustainable economic growth. In 2015, the Jordanian Government launched the National Financial Inclusion Strategy that identified financial inclusion as a national priority. With extensive regional experience, Network International supports financial inclusion by facilitating digital payment services and promoting the associated benefits within its markets.
