Network International, the leading payment solutions provider in the Middle East and Africa (MEA), hosted its fifth annual Payments Conference recently at the Four Seasons Hotel Amman. Held under the theme “Taking e-payments forward for a better tomorrow”, the event brought together key experts and stakeholders in the fields of e-payments, financial solutions, retail, banking and the public sector, in order to share insights and discuss opportunities for collaboration.
The conference was held under the patronage of the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) and was attended by Deputy Governor of CBJ, Maher 'Sheikh Hasan', and CBJ’s Executive Manager of Payment Systems and the Domestic Banking Operations Department, Maha Al Bahou.
The one-day event aimed to provide participants with an increased understanding of the rapidly evolving e-payments industry, particularly as new technologies are enabling the development of innovative products and services. Leading experts in the financial services sector shed light on exciting developments and innovations in Jordan's payments industry including Murad Al-Saleh, Head of Retail Banking at Standard Chartered Jordan; Mohammed Qadadeh, Vice President of Government Services and Solutions at MasterCard Jordan; Janti Abdullah, STS PayOne General Manager; Mohanned Audeh, Director of Marketing and Business Development of Zain Jordan, in addition to an opening address by Network International’s Chairman, Abdulla Qassem and a presentation on key payment industry trends by Group CEO, Simon Haslam.
Commenting on the event, Amjad Al Sadeq, Chief Executive Officer of Network International Jordan, said, “We are delighted to organize and host this important annual event, which provides a pivotal platform for leaders across numerous industries to exchange valuable knowledge and ideas. The Network Payments Conference underlines our leading role in providing value-added payment services and insights that enable commerce so our clients and stakeholders can grow, expand, and develop their business. Hosting this event also supports our ongoing efforts to expand and develop our own services: we are currently working with our strategic partners to introduce an array of e-payment services in Jordan that will further elevate this crucial industry.”
In line with His Majesty’s vision, Network International has played a vital role in the expansion of the e-payment industry in Jordan, by supporting local partners such as eFAWATEERCOM and working with CBJ to support the integration of JoMoPay with other payment methods, in order to achieve the Central Bank’s vision for increased financial inclusion across the Kingdom.
“As we continue to push for simpler and more efficient e-payment solutions in the Kingdom, I am certain that the annual Network Payments Conference will create several opportunities for collaboration and growth in the payments sector,” added Al Sadeq.
The conference concluded with a gala dinner and the Payments Conference Awards that recognizes organizations and individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership and vision in developing Jordan’s e-payments landscape.
This year’s conference was sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank (Platinum Sponsor); MasterCard (Official Payment Company Partner); STS PayOne and S2M Secure Digital Solutions (Gold Sponsors); Executive Telecom Company & GEPCOM (Silver Sponsors); and Zain Jordan (Official Telecom Partner).
