Tejar Dubai discusses ways of succeeding in the world of entrepreneurship

Dubai - MENA Herald: The Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme, a Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry initiative, organised a workshop entitled, Opportunities and Challenges of Financial Management as part of its efforts to promote a culture of entrepreneurship in the financial sector. The aim of the workshop was to familiarise young Emirati entrepreneurs with the opportunities, challenges and the current technological trends in the financial and banking sectors as well as innovations in the financial markets, collective financing solutions and electronic payment programmes. Speaking at the workshop, Kamal Sifri, CEO, Emirates Investment Bank, talked about innovations, opportunities and challenges in the banking systems, while Kamal Hassan, Founder & CEO of Innovation 360 and general partner at Turn8, shared his experience in the business world and highlighted the current trends in the financial market. On his part, Omar Haddad, Head of Enterprise Business Solutions, Master Card, spoke about procurement and payment and its evolution and culture over the years while Mohammad Al Besharah, Co-Founder of Jaribha – The Crowd Funding Destination, shed light on his experience of entering the world of entrepreneurship and how he set up his company which deals in crowdfunding. Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice-President, Institutional Support Sector, Dubai Chamber, and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai, informed that these workshops support young Emiratis to enter the world of entrepreneurship equipped with proper information related to setting up a new project. He said: “The workshop, which is the third this year, was organised in the framework of the Tejar Dubai entrepreneurship development programme whose aim is to train budding entrepreneurs to realise their dreams and to arm them with the required tools to succeed in the business world. We have thus far organised 35 workshops since the launch of the programme and have helped launch 19 commercial projects of the participants of Tejar Dubai.” Under its three key pillars of assess, assist and attain, the Tejar Dubai initiative, launched by Dubai Chamber in 2013, provides youth with access to an extensive development programme, including classroom learning, on-site training, mentoring and business advice, as well as networking opportunities with local and international business leaders and access to investment capital while helping them establish their own small-to-medium-sized businesses. With its commitment to the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, which emphasises that entrepreneurship is the shortest route to a bright future, the training programme aims to find and train creative and commercially-minded youth to help them turn their business ideas into a reality.
