Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognised its 15 top exporting members between January 2015 and Q1 2016 in an exclusive Exporter of the Month ceremony held at its head office on Thursday. H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, Dubai Chamber, congratulated the 15 companies and presented their representatives with a certificate of recognition and an Exporter of the Month trophy based on a distinct and specific criterion derived from Dubai Chamber’s Certificate of Origin database. The companies being honoured included Al Rawahel Trading FZE, Parfums Christian Dior, Ever New General Trading L.L.C., Dewan AlDahab Jewellery Est., Liptus Trading FZCO, Super General Co, Roche Diagnostics Middle East FZCO, Al Ghezlan General Trading, Fast Telecom General Trading L.L.C., Strategic Foods International Co. L.L.C., Sogedimo Trading Co Ltd., Golden Core Trading, Sgaf General Trading, Flex Middle East FZE, and Al Rumaihi General Trading. The honouree companies were chosen for their exceptional performance in the categories: Company with the highest export value, Company with the highest number of markets exported to, Company with the highest number of Certificates of Origin issued and a recent start-up which reached the highest export value during a particular month. During the presentation ceremony, H.E. Al Ghurair highlighted the importance of the Exporter of the Month initiative which he said has been honouring Dubai businesses since its inception in 2009 and is continuing to grow from strength to strength. “We believe that recognising the hard work and effort demonstrated by outstanding companies is a motivator for Dubai Chamber members as well as the emirate’s business community. Having such role models and exemplary members illustrates that Dubai’s business community is headed in the right direction,” said H.E. Al Ghurair. He further stressed that this reward initiative goes on to identify best trading performance in Dubai, establishes a reference trading standard for the rest of the trading community and also promotes the competitiveness of Dubai-based companies globally while enhancing the overall business environment of the emirate. Representatives of the recipient companies expressed their gratitude to Dubai Chamber for its support in encouraging positive and healthy competition within the business community which ultimately benefit their companies while boosting Dubai’s competitive business environment. Dubai Chamber launched the Exporter of the Month initiative in 2009, under the name Exporter of the Quarter. The initiative was changed in 2010 to make it a monthly event due to its popularity and success. The Exporter of the Month was initiated to recognise, support, and encourage the trade performance of the Dubai-based trading community. The data for the selection of the recognition is retrieved from Dubai Chamber’s Certificate of Origin database.
