Dubai - MENA Herald:

Bourn Hall International MENA Ltd., the holding company of the Bourn Hall Fertility Clinics in Dubai and Al Ain and a leading provider of reproductive services in the UAE, today announces the launch of a new electronic Patient Portal.

Katherine Borge, the company’s new Chief Business Officer who spearheaded the launch, explained how the portal will ensure even better privacy, safety and compliance for patients and serve as an electronic medical record system and information resource. “Offering our patients a communication and record-keeping tool that is not only convenient but also safe is an important pillar of our strictly patient-centric approach.”

Through a mobile-friendly electronic platform, the new Patient Portal enables patients to communicate directly with clinicians and staff, review results that are uploaded directly from the lab, and book appointments electronically with automated appointment reminders. Personalized treatment calendars with medication dosage dates and times and educational videos on topics including proper injection technique and procedure preparation will help patients to manage their individual treatment plans.

Hoda-Abou Jamra, Group CEO of BHI, explained how the platform will further enhance the quality of service for the growing number of people in the UAE suffering from fertility issues. “1 in 5 people across all demographics of the UAE have a fertility issue; 50-60% of these are male infertility issues. Females endure most physical parts of the treatment, so it is important to fully understand the emotional turmoil that the patient goes through, to be able to comfort them suitably. Our clinic in Dubai was the first JCI Accredited Fertility Clinic in the Middle East, and so we have always aimed to maintain a very high standard of service and quality.”

Katherine Borge joined Bourn Hall Fertility Clinics in March 2019 with over 6 years in private healthcare in the UAE, most recently as an executive team member of the largest private post-acute care provider in the country. She brings with her a strong international healthcare delivery background and a focus on patient-centric services, with a specialty in healthcare services with emotional, psychological and financial sensitivities for patients and their families. A graduate from Northeastern University, USA, with pre-medical educational background and experience at a Harvard Medical School Affiliate hospital, she was awarded the Rising Star of the Year Award from the Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) in 2018.
