WETEX to show innovative solutions in water, energy, environment and green development from 4-6 October 2016

Tuesday 02 August 2016

Dubai - MENA Herald: The 18th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016) will feature the latest innovative solutions in energy, water and environment. Many of these technologies will be unveiled for the first time regionally to cater to the needs of renewable energy, water and energy conservation sectors. WETEX is organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA.
DEWA has revealed that the 18th WETEX, to be held from 4 to 6 October 2016 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, will serve as an integrated platform to sign deals and partnerships. The forthcoming show will be the largest in the exhibition’s history in terms of number of exhibitors and space, and expected visitors. This year, WETEX is expected to attract 1,900 exhibitors from 46 countries, and 22,600 visitors from 65 countries will take part in the exhibition, which will cover 63,700 square metres.
DEWA noted that it has invited a wider variety of manufacturers and service providers from many sub sectors to the show. The move aims to attract a larger display of new products and technologies to serve wider audience at the exhibition.
“With the accelerated development in the energy and water sectors, new industrial sub-sectors emerged. WETEX serves as an important meeting point for manufacturers, service providers, decision-makers, and trade visitors from the UAE and the region. It helps investors to review the latest technologies available in these areas,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, President and Founder of WETEX.
More energy technologies
In line with the efforts of the UAE and regional governments to increase the percentage of renewable and clean energy, DEWA is organising the first Dubai Solar Show, in conjunction with WETEX, as the most prominent regional business platform for products, solutions and solar energy production and storage technologies. WETEX 2016 will have on display the latest tools and equipment, including turbines, compressors, motors, power generators, as well as air conditioners, cleaning equipment, air purification, batteries, high-voltage cables, multiple types of cables, and wiring technologies, calibration measurement equipment, manufacturing protection systems, centrifuge machinery, communication systems’ equipment, industrial and residential control systems, safety equipment, refrigeration and heating, diesel engines, and fire-fighting and safety systems. The show will showcase transducers, control electronic systems in the energy sector, corrosion equipment, home appliances such as refrigerators, air conditioners, dishwashers, ovens, TVs, computers, light fittings, wiring switches and energy-saving products.
“The emergence of new technologies in any market paves the way for the desired development. Decision-makers tend to assess these technologies and study their economic and environmental returns. Over 17 years, WETEX witnessed the launch of several new technologies, many of which made their regional debut through its platform. Major deals and partnerships were signed and mega project were announced that have changed the scene of energy sector regionally and globally. This year, WETEX will continue to present the latest technologies in various energy sectors, while Dubai Solar Show will cater for the increasing demand in the solar energy sector,” added Al Tayer.
“Visitors to WETEX can easily access their preferred industrial sectors. We have allocated the largest spaces for the most prominent sectors. WETEX has become an annual platform for product launches and a must-attend event on the agenda of decision-makers, investors, and trade visitors from around the globe. WETEX 2016 will be the most comprehensive to date,” concluded Al Tayer.
Global leaders to unveil new water technologies at WETEX 2016
Scarcity of drinking water around the world imposes challenges that encouraged many companies to invest in research of new technologies for water production and storage. This coincided with broad awareness campaigns for rationalisation and waste reduction. Researchers took different paths in their quest to find new sources of water supply. These include enhancing desalination capabilities of seawater, reducing costs of treated waste water, and desalination using solar energy. This year's WETEX attracts the largest number of industry players from around the world under one roof.
In the water sector, WETEX will cover all related aspects, including water treatment, desalination plants, pipes of all kinds, coolers and heaters, and related products and solutions. It will also display tools, equipment and accessories for digging technologies, pumps, valves, and tools to ease pressure and others. WETEX will show the latest advances in irrigation systems, agriculture and horticulture equipment, and water extraction equipment. With a focus on water conservation, WETEX will showcase products for detecting and treating water leakages, reservoir lining, and various materials used in the water sector and water transportation.
Al Tayer invited energy, water, and environment companies to take part in the 18th WETEX and 1st Dubai Solar Show to display their products and services and take advantage of the promising opportunities available in the UAE and the wider region.
For the 3rd consecutive year, WETEX will be held under the umbrella of Green Week, and coincides with the third edition of World Green Economy Summit (WGES), and the first Dubai Solar Show.
