Thailand Pavilion announces the collaboration with one of the most famous Thai restaurants in Dubai, Little Bangkok, to present the Thai flavor in Thailand Pavilion at World Expo 2020 Dubai.
On July 3rd, 2019, Thailand Pavilion and Little Bangkok host the dinner event called ‘The Glimpse of Thai Taste by Little Bangkok’ at Little Bangkok–Dubai Media City–to announce the great news as it got chosen to manage ‘The Taste of Thai’ restaurant and represent Thailand at World Expo 2020 Dubai.
Little Bangkok is well known for its authentic Thai food with modern tastes. The restaurant has been capturing the hearts of the people in Dubai for over 6 years. The restaurant is awarded as the Best Thai Restaurant in 2019 by TripAdvisor and the winner of Best Pan Asian Casual Dine 2018 by Zomato, the famous application for restaurant search and delivery service in the world. Little Bangkok does not compromise when it comes to the ingredients, it has the central kitchen to make sure the ingredients and products for all of its eight branches are meeting the high standard. For these reasons, Little Bangkok is the perfect representative to manage The Taste of Thai restaurant to go according to the regulations from the World Expo.
“At World Expo 2020 Dubai, with the theme of ‘Mobility for the Future’, Thailand Pavilion will be representing the country through the design, architecture, exhibition, hospitality and activities inside the pavilion. Thus, we hope that Little Bangkok will help give the full Thai experience for the visitors in the pavilion via Thai cuisine,” said Dr. Nattapon Nimmanphatcharin, President and CEO of the Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) which organized Thailand Pavilion at World Expo.
The Taste of Thai restaurant will be located on the first floor of Thailand Pavilion with the area of 160 square meters, using the contemporary style decoration to emphasize the coziness of Asian and 50 comfortable seating. The restaurant is capable to welcome over 500 customers per day and is expected over 100,000 guests throughout six months period of Expo 2020.
Mr. Kirdjakree Haemapun, CEO of the Culex Hospitality group and the founder of Little Bangkok, reveal menus that will be served at The Taste of Thai restaurant inside Thailand Pavilion. The menus will consist of starters, main courses, soup and drinks. For starters, he has chosen the Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay which are easy finger food and convenient for the visitors to enjoy the food while wandering around the expo.
“The main courses will be Kang Keaw Wan (Chicken or Vegetarian Green Curry), Kang Massaman which is the king of curry, Kang Panaeng and Pad Thai. For the soup, we will have the famous Tom Yum Goong. To soothe the rich flavor of Thai cuisines, we plan to serve Thai Iced Tea and Lemongrass juice to balance out. These are just some of the menus we have planned so far, and there will be many more menus available for the visitors at World Expo,” said Mr. Kirdjakree.
Little Bangkok is also currently running “EAT THAI, FLY THAI & VISIT THAILAND” campaign at all of its branches in Dubai. The customers can take a photo of the cuisines or the atmosphere inside the restaurant and share on the social media.
This campaign is the collaboration between Little Bangkok, Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Dubai & Middle East office, Thai Airways Dubai & Middle East office and Thailand Pavilion to promote Thai tourism and Thai cuisines among people in Dubai by giving away free 30 tickets for the lucky winners to visit Thailand. The campaign is now opened until 24 August 2019.
World Expo 2020, to be hosted on 20th October 2020 to 10th April 2021 in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, is considered as a chance for Thailand to showcase its digital technology potential in the world stage. The country aims to draw in investors through the country’s development of digital aspects, besides the abundant land and the rich culture of the Land of Smile.
The Thailand Pavilion in Expo 2020 which is managed by Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency; the operating arm of Thailand's Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES), will be organized and run by Index Creative Village PCL., a creative business leader in Thailand who have experience in managing large turnkey projects and has managed Thailand Pavilions at World Expos for over a decade.
