Dubai - MENA Herald:

This year, for the second time, the Gulf Capital SME Awards has recognized for their success for The Disruption of the Year Award.

The awards are organized by MEED, which partnered with Gulf Capital 6 years ago as the headline sponsor, to recognize the UAE’s SMEs, business leaders and entrepreneurs for innovation, growth and success.

“This has already been quite a month for as we only just announced a landmark Series B funding round last week. Whether it's going out to the masses through our association with UAE Exchange, the fact that we are GoCompare's first international investment and at the forefront of the financial literacy drive in the Kingdom in conjunction with the Riyad Taqnia Fund, it is our foresight and vision that has always stood us in good stead” said Ambareen Musa, CEO & Founder of
"This award is an important validation of the hard work and creativity of our extraordinary team and we are grateful to MEED for this recognition", she added.

The Disruption of the Year Award recognises an SME which has created an innovative disruption – a new market or a disruption in an existing market. The disruption must have gone to market in the last year and be profitable for the business. The winning business must be able to show evidence of how the disruption has changed its market.
"Souqalmal's relentless pace of innovation has changed the game so much that rivals struggle to keep up, let alone stay ahead. This award for disruptor of the year is well deserved and we congratulate Ambareen and her team for once again being a game-changer," said Dr. Karim El-Solh, Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Capital, one of the leading alternative investment firms in the Middle East and headline sponsor of the annual Gulf Capital SME Awards.
