Dubai - MENA Herald: A delegation from Smart Dubai Office (SDO) led by H.E. Dr. Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of SDO, is exerting more efforts to form business partnership by showcasing its smart transformation roadmap to the founding strategic partners of the smart city transformation process. The delegation visited Dubai Land Department (DLD) to discuss SDO's goals and strategies for securing strategic partnerships with stakeholders inside and outside the UAE to further enhance Dubai’s ongoing 'smart transformation'.
Bin Bishr said: "Our vision is to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world, taking into account all the possible environmental dimensions for establishing this desired city characterized by a smart life, smart mobility, a smart community, a smart economy, smart governance, and a smart environment."
She added: "We aim to facilitate and standardize the smart transformation process across the city of Dubai. Today, we are here to share with you the accomplishments of Smart Dubai Office in its efforts to lead the ongoing transformation. We are committed to fostering cooperation, overcoming all obstacles, integrating work and mobilizing creative ideas all together to provide shared smart services to the public and private sectors. These efforts will reflect positively on the people of Dubai and make them happy in fulfillment of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to turn Dubai into the smartest city in the world by 2017."

Bin Mejren continued "Smart applications have become a modern necessity to carry out our operations and our activities, in order to ensure parity with global progress. Dubai Land Department provides nine smart applications to ensure the best services are provided and achieve a satisfactory service for all Dubai residents in easy and convenient ways".
H.E. Younis Al Nasser, CEO of Dubai Data Establishment, discussed the structure of SDO, which he described as a sophisticated and advanced step towards the development of a smart city. The Office oversees Smart Dubai Government Establishment (SDG), the technical arm of Smart Dubai, and Dubai Data Establishment, which disseminates and exchanges data between the public and private sectors.
Al Nasser explained the initiative’s fundamental pillars of efficiency, safety, seamlessness and impact fullness and also presented a summary on open and shared data. He noted that this is one of the most comprehensive and ambitious initiatives of its kind in the world given its immense benefits for decision-makers, employers and Dubai’s residents and visitors. Dubai Data Establishment approves and supervises policies, authorizes the classification of data, identifies reference records, and follows up on the commitments of data providers to the adoption and implementation of the agreed-upon policies.
H.E. Wesam Al Abbas Lootah, CEO of SDG, presented details on the Smart Dubai Platform, the new digital backbone powering Dubai's smart city transformation. The platform is designed to benefit everyone and unifies services, big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things (IoT) involved in the Smart City, he said, adding that the platform supports strategic partners and ensures that the private sector has access to the city’s open and shared data.
Lootah also discussed the ‘Dubai Now’ app, which was named ‘Best Government Service via Mobile Phone’ at the 4th Government Summit. He stated that Dubai Now is a model of connected services for the Smart City that enables residents to do their transactions via a single platform that meets all their needs. The app is supported by the 'MyID' service, which provides a single sign-on to all the services offered on this comprehensive platform, he said.
The two sides underlined the importance for their work teams to communicate constantly and hold constructive meetings in order to meet SDO’s objectives. The parties agreed that this major initiative requires joint efforts in order to provide shared smart services that bring happiness to the people of Dubai.
The Smart Dubai Office was established in late 2015 by Law No. (29) for 2015. It develops strategic initiatives and establishes partnerships for advancing Dubai's smart economy, smart governance, smart environment, dimensions of smart living, smart individuals, and smart mobility – all geared towards creating the smartest and happiest city in the world.
