Department of Economic Development - Ajman reviews Government Privileges for Entrepreneurs

The Department of Economic Development – Ajman, organized a Government Privileges Forum for local, small and medium enterprises (SMEs), in partnership with the National Program for SMEs. The forum, which was held at the Ajman Saray Hotel, discussed the privileges offered by the National Program for SMEs, which operates under the Ministry of Economy, and how to coordinate with stakeholders to promote the products for national projects locally and internationally, and how to provide support for entrepreneurs.

H.E. Ali Issa Al Nuaimi, Director General of DED-Ajman, said: “The recent event formed part of the department’s initiatives to back local investments by building a friendly environment for entrepreneurs. We aim to develop SMEs business and empower local entrepreneurs to help achieve success across various economic sectors”.

H.E. Al Nuaimi added: “The National Program for SMEs is one of the most prominent national initiatives that emphasize the country’s drive to support entrepreneurship. It provides all SME players with the right knowledge and opportunities to flourish in their respective businesses and ensure their active contribution to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) and economic diversification effort.”

For his part, Dr. Al-Afifi said: " The meeting aims at enhancing the efforts to support these economic gatherings and provide them with incentives to ensure their success and continuity as we believe that this is the new engine for activating the labor sector in both government and private sectors. These meetings contribute greatly to the development of capacities to face the challenge of entering the commercial market. "

Adeeb added: "The SME sector is one of the vital sectors that support the country's economy, stimulate investors and encourage talented entrepreneurial and innovative entrepreneurs. The

UAE is one of the first countries to develop different strategies to help enable local SMEs in competing with major private companies."

The SME program has been implemented in collaboration with relevant federal, local government, and private sector entities in support of SMEs’ sustainable growth and development. The beneficiaries of the program were taught how to market their products and services here and abroad, in addition to learning other major benefits and incentives for them. Through this forum, all its privileges will be awarded to the projects registered under DED Ajman's TAZIZ Program, within the framework of the existing cooperation and partnership between both parties.
