The sprawling 17,000 sqm campus - located in the Academic City - is built to serve as an anchor for comprehensive education programs catering to pre-school, kindergarten, primary and secondary school children. The launch of the school comes as a result of a successful collaboration between the Board of the German School and Sharaf Group, and is positioned as a proactive response to the UAE Vision 2021 - launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum - to develop a robust knowledge economy and make the UAE among the best countries in the world. The consultancy mandate for the estimated AED 120 million facility is given to Academia Management Solutions International (AMSI).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. M.G. Sharafuddin Sharaf, Vice Chairman of Sharaf Group, said: “We are extremely proud of how our mission at Sharaf Group was translated into this commitment to establish the school. We have constantly endeavoured to build and maintain strong, successful, and sustainable relationships with all stakeholders by providing enhanced value, quality services and growth opportunities.” He also expressed enthusiasm at aligning the school’s philosophy with the country’s strategic outlook: “This project is in sync with the UAE Vision 2021, which aims to strengthen the nation’s knowledge economy through collaborative education based on innovation and the best utilization of modern technology.”
Representing AMSI at the event, CEO, Mr. Adonis Nasr highlighted the organisation’s expertise spanning over two decades in the education sector, and a rich heritage in providing academic solutions. “AMSI brings a synergistic blend of global perspective and local experience to the education system’s most crucial elements. I am confident that our team will enable The German International School of Dubai to provide competitive education services to a discerning audience, cater to the country’s diverse populace, and achieve the shared goal of grooming students to achieve excellence in both academic and personal pursuits.”
The newly launched campus offers several amenities for its students, including football courts, track and field facilities, indoor multi-purpose hall, a swimming pool, a gymnasium, an auditorium, arts room, physics and chemistry labs, a gymnasium hall, and a library. In addition to enhancing the long-standing relationship between two countries, The German International School of Dubai is expected to play an integral role in adding to the diversity of schools across the city, and carve an importance place in the academic fabric of a country that is home to hundreds of nationalities.
