Huawei and Pakistan’s Special Communications Organization Sign MoU at MWC

Huawei has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Special Communications Organization to further strengthen cooperation in Pakistan. The MoU was signed at a ceremony at the Huawei booth at Mobile World Congress.

Signing the MoU on behalf of Pakistan was Colonel Mr. Muhammad Fayyaz Khan of the Special Communications’ Organization (SCO). Mr. Sun Bohan, Managing Director enterprise department, Huawei Technologies Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd. signed for Huawei. Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecom Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Director General of SCO Major General Mr.Ali Farhan, Senior Vice President of Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd Mr. Mark Xueman and CEO of Huawei Technologies Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd Mr. Saif Chi witnessed the signing ceremony.

Pakistan’s Minister of Information Technology and Telecom Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui spoke to the journalists after the signing ceremony,“if we want to digitalize our country, we need human resources, so I want to create a Regulatory authority for the IT education and increasing the penetration of broadband and smart phones, and we are planning to invite Huawei to take part in this”.

He also added that “Pakistan is working to connect rural areas with fiber and wireless solutions to make networks ready for 4.5G and 5G, the roadmap to digital transformation requires collaboration between all parties, including vendors like Huawei and service providers ,everybody can contribute”.

MWC 2019 runs from February 25 to February 28 in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei showcases its products and solutions at booth 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1, booth 3I30 in Hall 3, the Innovation City zone in Hall 4, booth 7C21 and 7C31 in Hall 7.
