GCA Introduces Helpline Service to Answer Participation Queries for Third Edition

Sharjah - MENA Herald: Sharjah Media Centre (SMC), the media arm of the Government of Sharjah and organiser of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (GCA), has collaborated with Sharjah Call Centre to set up a free helpline 800-800-00 to answer the queries of individuals and institutions on the third edition of the GCA.

A special dedicated team will respond to questions from 8am to 6pm on weekdays. Interested individuals and institutions may also seek more information about the award by emailing or faxing Sharjah Call Centre.  

Asma Al Juwaied, Manager of Sharjah Government Communication Award, said: "The introduction of the free helpline service, in collaboration with Sharjah Call Centre, comes as part of our efforts to attract greater interest and more submissions, and also to answer prospective participants in an easy, efficient and timely manner, Sundays through Thursdays. We hope this service will help interested candidates to overcome any obstacles they may face in submitting their entries."

She further clarified that the dedicated team from Sharjah Media Centre will seek to enhance industry understanding of the third edition of the GCA, which has been launched under the slogan ‘Promoting Innovation… Honouring Achievement’ towards improving government communication in the UAE and the wider GCC region. The award also aims to encourage industry professionals to integrate best practices into the vital sector.

Registration of entries for the upcoming award cycle will continue until January 31, 2016. The GCA welcomes the participation of institutions, opinion leaders, and media and communication researchers, as well as students in its various categories. Submissions for the award can be made via the website www.sgci.com.

The award categories include: Best Practice in Government Communication, Best Official Spokesperson, Best Government Website, Best Media Crisis Management, Best Government Communication Strategy, Best Government Social Media Practice, Best Graduation Project and Research on Government Communication, Best Government Intercommunication Practice, Best Government Communication Campaign, and Best International Government Communication Campaign.

The prestigious GCA aims to firmly establish best professional practices in the government communication sector in the UAE and the wider GCC region. It seeks to highlight the efforts of local and regional organisations, groups and individuals, and support their achievements and innovations that contribute to enhancing prospects for communication with the public and create a genuine partnership between government entities and decision-makers on the one hand, and diverse audiences on the other.
