Kuwait - MENA Herald: Diyar United Company, a Kuwait-headquartered ICT specialist, has completed key milestones in ADNOC Distribution’s pioneer project aiming to transform its UAE network of service stations into ‘Smart Service Stations’, which are capable of offering self-service fuelling option. The cashless ADNOC Wallet-linked payment methods, one of the core solutions delivered by Diyar United Company, will be manageable via both mobile phones and tablet devices, and is slated to reduce queues and wait times at ADNOC distribution service stations. The project also involves the integration of RFID technology at the pump, with e-commerce systems in highly secure environment to deliver seamless fueling and sales process based on customer preference, and payment methods.

This initiative will mark a shift in vehicle refueling experience in the region, especially in locations with high congestion rates and delayed customer journeys. Customers who register with ADNOC Wallet will be able to pay for their fuel purchases at smart service stations via a smart tag installed at their vehicle’s fuel tank inlet, ADNOC Plus card, or even via their ID Card, which is issued by UAE’s Emirates Identity Authority to UAE nationals and residents.

Bashar Atout, CEO, Diyar United Company said: “We are proud to be a part of this ‘Smart’ initiative by ADNOC Distribution. As a technology enabler, we see it as a professional challenge to align ourselves with the technology innovation of our customers, driven by the broader national digital strategy as envisioned by the UAE. Apart from the immense convenience and customer satisfaction that this system can provide, there is also a strong security factor that will be of benefit to all customers, with small or big accounts alike.”

The project will feature a cashless payment system at the pump that is linked to a highly-secure eCommerce system in the back-end. Customer satisfaction will be redefined through this system, with shorter wait times, increased payment options, and peace-of-mind. The ‘Smart Service Stations’ can be used as information platforms for customers and as a base for the company to improve and plan services. Multiple technologies are being applied in this project including smart tag and ID Card as payment tokens all of which are integrated with the back office system at the station and Head Office.

Khalid Hadi, Vice President for Marketing and Corporate Communications at ADNOC Distribution, said: “We are very happy to have Diyar United Company as a partner in this landmark project. We have always prioritized the implementation of the most advanced, cutting-edge solutions available for the benefits of our customers.
