Wednesday 28 October 2015

Dubai - MENA Herald: Following the trip partnership agreement signed by the National Human Resources Development and Employment Authority (‘Tanmia’) and Aramex, the leading global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions, to empower women job seekers and entrepreneurs with digital knowledge, ICDL Arabia, the governing body and certification authority for the ICDL certificate program in Egypt, GCC States and Iraq, has announced the commencement of training courses for women job seekers and entrepreneurs in the UAE. The move is in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, to turn the country into an integrated knowledge-based economy and enhance the role of its citizen in society.

The four-week-long training program will educate 50 women selected by Tanmia and sponsored by Aramex in three different centres in Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman. In Fujairah, 15 women candidates will undertake the Program on Social Media at Fujairah College, while another 15 will take up the ICDL Program in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Noor Centre. Both courses already started recently and each session will be three hours long – from 10.00 am until 1.00 pm. In Ajman, 20 women will study under the ICDL Program that already started at the New Admin.

Jamil Ezzo, Director General of ICDL Arabia, said: “As part of our commitment to empower the women of the UAE with the necessary digital and social media skills for their effective integration into the country’s evolving labour market, we have signed a cooperative agreement with Tanmia and Aramex. We already started our four-week training program for 50 women job seekers and entrepreneurs. We have carefully selected courses that will strengthen their information and communication technology (ICT) skills and prepare them to excel in the current job market, contributing to the UAE’s economic development.
