In line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for Dubai government entities' services to be available round the clock and operate at high efficiency, Dubai Smart Government Department (DSG) and Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which DSG will provide the necessary support for its electronic and smart shared services provided to Dubai Culture and also specify the levels of this support and the priority-based response period.

The services which Dubai Culture benefits from include the Government Resources Planning Systems (GRPS), Government Information Network (GIN), MyID, ePay, Government Service Bus, Correspondence Tracking System, SMS Dubai, eSurvey, Happiness Meter, eHost, eComplain, eSuggest etc.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, DSG Director General, said: "Providing technical support to the electronic and smart services of Dubai government entities is a significant theme in DSG's strategy and is aimed at improving the operational efficiencies and ensure better and more use of the integrated and shared services to contribute to pushing the wheel of government excellence forward."

Bin Humaidan affirmed DSG's commitment to employ its sophisticated enablers including modern infrastructure, smart apps and systems and high-level technical support to ensure efficient transformation to smart government, particularly after DSG had been awarded an ISO 20000:2011 Certification for IT service management, which proved its commitment to the global IT standards for improving the performance of services in general and made it highly qualified for effectively providing support services to government entities.

Bin Humaidan added: "Through our partnership with Dubai Culture we look forward to intensifying common efforts to boost the readiness of the smart services which Dubai Culture benefits from so as to be available round the clock and conform with the highest efficiency and reliability standards, particularly due to the fact that Dubai Culture plays a key role for Dubai to become a platform for diverse cultural exchange and creativity regionally and globally for the ultimate end of achieving the satisfaction and happiness of its customers."

Meanwhile, H.E. Saeed Al Naboodah, Acting Director General of the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, said: “Through the MoU, Dubai Culture and Dubai Smart Government will work towards enhancing the government information network by connecting Dubai Culture’s services with Dubai Smart Government. The agreement supports our goal of further strengthening customer services in line with the vision of our leadership.”

DSG has recently launched at Gitex Technology Week 2015 new smart shared services: Dubai Government's CloudOne, which provides a smart shared infrastructure that enables Dubai government entities to easily access a list of the needed IT resources, thereby saving the expenses and efforts needed to build these resources individually, and Watson interactive system, which employs artificial intelligence for the public dealing with government services. DSG also launched Dubai Now, a first of its kind app designed on the basis of engaging customers through DSG's Customer Experience Lab and one of the comprehensive and distinguished smart solutions in that, it combines at one place a large number of smart government services for 22 Dubai government entities participating in the app so far.
