Dubai Silicon Oasis Concludes Successful Participation at 25th Japan IT Week

Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA), the regulatory body for Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), the integrated free zone technology park, showcased investment opportunities and incentives to the Japanese tech community at the 25th Japan IT Week event that was held from May 11 to May 13 at Tokyo Big Sight in Japan.

Visitors to the DSO stand were briefed about the tech park’s solid value proposition and free-zone benefits such as competitive cost of operations, state-of-art infrastructure, advanced IT network and 100 per cent ownership among many other value added incentives.

Furthermore, the DSOA delegation, led by Engineer Muammar Al Katheeri, Executive Vice President of Engineering and Smart City at DSOA, scheduled B2B meetings with several renowned Japanese organizations and potential investors to provide a general overview on the competitive advantages, prospects, growth opportunities and benefits of operating out of the hi-tech park. The delegation also briefed investors on DSOA’s smart city projects and initiatives such as the Silicon Park, which is set to become the smartest project in Dubai upon its completion in Q2 2018.

DSO’s participation also highlighted its commitment to Dubai’s Smart City vision, as well as its support of start-ups and innovation through its wholly owned Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre, the largest of its kind in the Middle East.

Commenting on DSOA’s participation at the event, Eng. Muammar, said: “In line with DSOA’s international positioning strategy, we have been proactively participating in various high-tech events and roadshows around the globe to promote the investment opportunities that are available at Dubai Silicon Oasis.”

Al Katheeri added: “With Japan’s track-record in technology innovation and as part of our commitment to position Dubai as the ideal hub for high-tech companies looking to enter the region, we have targeted the Japanese market through our participation at the Japan IT Week to brief them about the great potential that the region offers for technology companies to start their operations.”

Japan IT Week Spring, Japan’s largest B2B IT show, has been held annually in May since its launch six years ago. Creditably, the event has witnessed continuous consecutive growth as the platform for IT professionals in Japan to seek solutions and services for various businesses. This year’s spring edition hosted more than 1,500 exhibitors and welcomed the participation of over 80,000 visitors. The next autumn edition of Japan IT Week is to take place at Makuhari Messe from October 26 to October 28, 2016.

A wholly-owned entity of the government of Dubai, DSO operates as a free zone technology park for large enterprises, medium and small companies looking to set up their offices in Dubai.
