Dubai - MENA Herald:

Smart Dubai has launched the state-of-the-art “Fajwa” system in partnership with Dubai Police, to help decision makers at the police department process candidates’ data to find the most suitable employees.

The launch was announced during a press conference held today at the Smart Dubai pavilion at GITEX Technology Week 2017, taking place in the Dubai World Trade Centre on October 8-12. Her Excellency Dr Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of the Smart Dubai Office (SDO), attended the conference, along with General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police.

Dr Aisha said: “The ‘Fajwa’ system embodies the values of our Founding Father, His Highness the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who had always urged officials to always put people first. These principles live on today with H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, who continues to place the people at the heart of all policies and strategies, while H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, asserts that spreading happiness is the main objective of the UAE Government.”

“We look at technology as a means to complement and enhance human capabilities, enabling officials in all government institutions to make sound decisions,” Dr Aisha added. “This system is intended to help Dubai Police identify the most talented, competent and compatible candidates before investing in their talent and training.”

On a similar note, Gen. Al Marri, said: “The ground-breaking ‘Fajwa’ system we launch today in collaboration with Smart Dubai is a milestone in the smart human resources management sector. It heeds the calls of the UAE’s wise leadership to continuously develop and empower the national workforce, which, in turn, serves to upgrade our performance as one of the most advanced police departments not only in the region, but also in the world.”

“‘Fajwa’ is a next-generation smart decision-making tool that employs the very latest technologies,” Al Marri added. “The system will improve our recruitment process and help fill vacant positions with the most qualified individuals that are not only most suitable for the position, but also the most compatible with Dubai Police’s overarching strategy.”

The General went on to confirm that the system will be implemented across the entire recruitment process, as well as for performance evaluation to ensure that the police department consistently measures up to the Government Excellence Standards of the Emirate of Dubai.

For his part, Wesam Lootah said: “The success of any organisation depends on its investment in human resources, whereby it places the right people in the right places. With that in mind, we have joined forces with Dubai Police to support the department’s efforts as they assemble their team through this intelligent system, analysing employee data and information to find the most suitable people for a position, based purely on clear professional standards.”

“Fajwa” is the latest addition to the Corporate Intelligence System, launched by the Smart Dubai Government Establishment back in 2015. The service bundle includes performance indicators for Human Resources, Payroll and Time Management, among other key criteria. The system will speed up decision-making by using reliable data to fill vacant positions, putting the right people in the right positions, economising time and effort and boosting productivity, efficiency and, consequently, happiness in the workplace.
