Dubai - MENA Herald:

The Ministry of Finance (MoF), launched its new eCloud service technology for federal entities’ financial and HR systems, in collaboration with the Federal Authority of Human Resources (FAHR) and Oracle International. This technology provides a secure IT infrastructure, with minimal intervention from operators and system administrators. The launch took place during the Ministry’s participation in GITEX Technology Week 2017.

The eCloud service is a portal that allows other federal entities to access HR resources and financial system training through customised profiles, enhancing the efficiency and security of IT infrastructure across the government.

The eCloud technology contributes in cutting AED 1.6 million worth of costs annually. In 2017, the technology helped in achieving a 25% reduction in operational efforts with an expected cut of 45% in 2019. Any federal entity can request these services from the Ministry of Finance through the eCloud, without any interference from the technical team.

HE Mariam Mohammad Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Management of Financial Resources, stressed the Ministry’s commitment to continuously implement the best practices for leading the digital transformation- which reflects the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform from an e-government to a smart government.  These steps are taken to enhance services tailored to meet customers’ needs and requirements. HE Al Amiri said: “The Ministry implemented this technology in record time to offer federal entities a number of resources to achieve business requirements.”

HE added: “The Ministry of Finance prioritises the customer’s best interest in the launch of a new project or initiative. The e-cloud technology is a significant addition to the basket of services offered by the Ministry. We also continuously seek to develop digital technologies based on ambitious innovative programmes, to achieve the wise leadership’s vision to have the UAE among the most competitive countries globally.”

GITEX Technology Week is considered one of the most prominent ICT exhibitions in the MENA region, and will run this year under the theme ‘Re-imagining realities: Discover, Transform and Innovate”. GITEX will witness the participation of local, regional and global companies to showcase their most innovative technologies.
