NBK Sponsors Forum on “The Dynamics of Disruption in Digital Business Transformation”

As part of its ongoing support to programs that aim to introduce knowledge and experience among professionals and the society as a whole, the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK) sponsored “The Dynamics of Disruption in Digital Business Transformation” forum that was organized by the Institute of Banking Studies and presented by IMD Professor of Innovation and Strategy, Michael Wade.

Held at Symphony Hotel, the discussions focused on the strategic advantages gained through a flexible business as well as how to link strategies to on-ground execution.

28 individual took part of the forum and discusses the concept of digital business transformation, managing principal business goals, as well as increasing revenue, reducing cost, maintaining profitability, increasing market share, and ensuring customer satisfaction through digital tools.

During the workshop, participants were trained on how to let go of traditional methods in business management, look at changes introduced in other business sectors regionally and internationally, and identify challenges and opportunities associated with the process of digital transformation.

Mr. Emad Al-Ablani General Manager of Group Human Resources, said, “NBK’s main sponsorship of the event falls as part of our commitment to actively contribute to increase the knowledge in the work sector and develop the skillset of professionals working in the banking sector.”

He added that the discussions on innovation and creativity are the key focus of NBK in increasing the performance of its employees through training programs that apply leading international standards.

Al-Ablani further explained that NBK continues to sponsor programs aimed at developing the skills of Kuwaiti professionals in general and in the banking sector in particular, to enable professionals to easily adopt at work and qualify them to lead in the future.

Al-Ablani highlighted the significance of the role of the Institute of Banking Studies in spreading the culture of banking through programs and events that contribute to the development of employees in the financial and banking sector in Kuwait.

Michael Wade is the Director of the Global Center for Digital Business Transformation at IMD and has published nine books, more than one hundred articles, presentations, and case studies,

writes a regular column for Fortune on digital disruption, and appears frequently in the mainstream media. His Latest book is Orchestrating Transformation: How to Deliver Winning Performance with a Connected Approach to Change, published in early 2019.

He was named one of the top ten digital thought leaders in Switzerland from 2016 to 2018. He was also nominated for teaching awards in the MBA, International MBA, and Executive MBA programs. Michael sits on three company boards as a digitally-focused advisor. Prior to joining IMD, he was the Academic Director of the Kellogg-Schulich Executive MBA Program in Canada.

Honoring NBK

On the sidelines of the seminar, the Director General of the Institute of Banking Studies, Dr. Yacoub Al-Rifai, presented an honorary shield to Al-Ablani in recognition of NBK’s role in supporting the seminars and programs organized by the Institute of Banking Studies.
