Dubai Customs shares best practices in digital transformation and security with Sharjah Police

Dubai Customs received a delegation from Sharjah Police with the aim of exchanging experiences and to learn about digital transformation and artificial intelligence at Dubai Customs, especially in information security field.

The delegation was headed by Colonel Nasser bin Afsan, Director of the Department of Electronic Services and Communications at Sharjah Police, and included Major Yaqub Yusif Al Hai, Head of System and Program Development, Captain Rashid Abdullah Al Shamsi, Manager of Server and Network Section, Lieutenant Maha Sultan Al Suwaidi, Manager of Strategy Section.

Hussam Juma, Director, Service Innovation Department at Dubai Customs, Adil Al Hawsani, Head of Information Security Section, and Alaa Abdul Qawi, Manager of development Section received the visitors.

During the meeting, which was organized by the Government Partnership Section in Dubai Customs, Juma delivered a presentation on digital transformation, block chain and artificial intelligence. He outlined their importance in making the smart future of the country and maturing government performance. He also talked about different means to invest AI tools and apply them to the customs field.

The two sides discussed the digital transformation strategy at Dubai Customs and its correlation with the UAE AI strategy, the phase that superseded the smart government phase. The new strategy will support different services, infrastructure and sectors in the UAE in line with the values and standards of the UAE Centennial 2071.

At the end of the visit, the visitors highly applauded the progressive plans and programs of Dubai Customs.
