Sharjah Exports Development Center organizes a brainstorming session at an exporters retreat

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), which was represented by the Sharjah Exports Development Center, organized a brainstorming session that included the participation of a number of government agencies in Sharjah that are concerned with exporting, as well as institutions that participate in the emirate’s promotional and investment program.

The event was divided into 4 sessions and was organized in cooperation with innovation 360. The event, which was held over a period of 2 days at the Kingfisher Lodge in Kalba under the title of “Exporters retreat,” was attended by representatives of a group of private companies from various industrial sectors operating in Sharjah that are related to production and exporting. The Sharjah Exports Development Center organized the brainstorming sessions with the aim of identifying the priorities and challenges of exporters, as well as recognizing ways to achieve their aspirations and facilitate exports and trade between Sharjah and the rest of the world. The sessions also included discussions on ways to attract foreign investors and adhere to the state-approved standards that enhance the competitiveness of UAE products abroad.

During the sessions, the discussions also centered on ways of entering new markets, and the importance of keeping pace with emerging technological developments in the manufacturing sector such as robotics, industrial intelligence and export development strategies, in addition to reviewing new and innovative distribution channels and mechanisms.

The sessions were attended by HE Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI); HE Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of the SCCI; HE Dr. Sultan Mohamed Hussain Al Mulla, Board Member of the SCCI; and Abdulaziz Shattaf, Assistant Director-General for Members Services at the SCCI and Director of Sharjah Exports Development Center; in addition to a number of employees from the Sharjah Exports Development Center.

HE Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), stated that organizing these sessions comes as part of the efforts to achieve the center’s strategy, which is considered one of the chamber’s initiatives that was launched under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of developing Sharjah's exports and creating ways to support the business community in the Emirate to develop and expand the spread of their products internationally.
