Dubai Exports, the export promotion agency of Dubai Economy, recently toured Brazil as part of a trade mission organised by the UAE embassy in Brazil to highlight opportunities for bilateral engagement in the economic, commercial, exports and cultural domains. The delegation, which was led by Her Excellency Hafsa Abdulla Mohamed Sharif Al Ulama and comprised representatives of the First Abu Dhabi Bank and the Dubai Chamber office in Brazil, met with trade associations and business groups in the provinces of Parana and Grande do Sul, exploring partnership prospects in various sectors.
For Dubai Exports, the tour was part of its efforts in enhancing international co-operation and strategic communication with trade and export bodies worldwide in order to open new horizons and markets for Made in UAE products. The industrial capabilities in Dubai and the UAE, particularly the long-term strategies to boost industrial output in and exports in the country and the role of Dubai Exports in achieving those strategic goals were highlighted across the meetings held in Brazil.
"The UAE and Dubai have vast opportunities to strengthen co-operation with Brazil in diverse sectors. Brazil is one of the largest markets in the world and we have developed an action plan to reach out to the most important industrial regions in Brazil for greater economic and commercial exchanges,” commented Al Ulama.
“We visited Parana, one of the largest provinces in Brazil, which is also economically the strongest among the top four states and the third most industrialised in the country. The state is the number one Brazilian exporter to the UAE. We are keen on building strategic alliances with the diverse companies in this region, in order to use the country as a trading hub and gateway to many other markets,” added Al Ulama.
"Dubai Exports through their office in Sao Paulo is enhancing the reach of UAE products in Brazil. The UAE Embassy as well as our consular staff in Sao Paulo are keen to support trade promotion bodies and industry associations in Brazil as well as in the UAE to establish productive partnerships and consolidate their efforts,” the Ambassador said.
Expressing his delight at the fruitful co-operation with the UAE Embassy in Brazil, Mohammed Ali Al Kamali, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Exports, said the mission was successful in showcasing the support provided by the Dubai Exports office in Sao Paulo as well as the opportunities for future partnerships with leading importers in Brazil, which is among the top nine consumer markets in the world.
"We are working towards organising a number of joint programmes with various industry associations and businesses in Brazil to enhance the reach of UAE products, enable traders in Brazil to use Dubai as a competitive re-export centre. The halal Hub-to-Hub concept is being promoted in co-operation with the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre and in this regard, we look forward to supporting a variety of sectors that will soon have a presence in Brazil,” concluded Al Kamali.
