Dubai - MENA Herald:

The second edition of the Windows Doors & Facades Event continued with its second day at the Dubai World Trade Centre featuring a number of exciting activities including free to attend educational workshops. The sessions include a series of visionary keynotes, seminars and industry relevant workshops presenting the best global practice and providing the tools and knowledge to develop and improve quality, efficiency and profitability.

The event introduces professionals to global and regional trends that are changing the traditional approach of the windows, doors and facades industry. This includes the advent of 3D building information modelling and innovations supporting regional government agendas related to environmental sustainability, safety and the wellbeing of occupants.

Abdulmajid Karanouh, Director, Head of Innovation Design, Facades & Sustainability at Ramboll conducted a session covering the role of data and augmented algorithmic thinking in inspiring innovation in design. The session covered the advancement of the consumer landscape with digital technological advancement and the need for business and professionals to adjust to the ever-evolving playing field.

“Digital tools have been used for a while to assist in carrying out computer-based engineering analysis as opposed to traditional manual calculation, and that has helped in improving the ability to analyse any given engineering task in a faster and more accurate manner. However, the gap between the ability of design teams to produce challenging looking designs and their ability to validate those designs and evaluate their value is growing wider. The workshop we delivered offered attendees a wider spectrum in terms of how digital tools can be used by project teams more effectively than ever before”, he said.

The session elaborated on the opportunity presented for designers and innovation experts to define the way forward through a process of leveraging technology to test limits and generating ideas that will discover the models of the future. Designers are constantly crafting products, messages and graphics in response to change, the output produces new ideas that can push the development of design forward.

The educational sessions are conducted by leading regional and international industry experts that cover key topics of interest related to design, regulations, standards compliance, certification, technological innovation and the industry direction. The workshops offer a great opportunity for attendants to exchange knowledge, experience and explore the industry’s constantly developing needs.

Muhammed Kazi, Exhibition Director of Windows, Doors & Facades 2017 said, “The UAE is playing a key role in the region in establishing the right strategies and facilitating the dialogue between world experts, setting an example of best practice to the world. In its second edition, the Windows Doors & Facades event cemented its position as a regionally leading industry event, able to gather international thought-leaders from around the world to share their knowledge and experience with both our guests and exhibitors.”

The Windows Doors & Façade event brings together in one place global and regional developers, investors, consultants, architects, contractors and distributors. Representatives from key industry stakeholder groups including Gutmann, Diamond Sponsor, Alumil, Platinum Sponsor, Reynaers, Executive Associate Partner and Founding Partners Schüco, Elumatec, Cladtech International, Orgadata, leverage the exhibition to engage in active and productive dialogue on key challenges facing the industry’s projects, working to bring businesses closer and fulfil their potential.
