Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: Today, ZonesCorp unveils a new development to designed to support the growth of small and mediums-sized enterprises (SME) in Abu Dhabi at the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS). The new zone being developed by ZonesCorp will feature 261 prefabricated, ready-to-use units covering an area of just over 300,000sqm. Overall 80% of the units have been designated for warehousing and 20% light industrial units.
The Government of Abu Dhabi is playing an important role in the development of the SME sector, seeking to improve conditions that will see it flourish, from the funding environment to supporting physical and business infrastructure. To support this aim and to meet the huge demand for warehousing from SME’s, ZonesCorp is creating a state of the art, fit-for-purpose warehouse and light industrial complex in the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICADIII).
The project is strategically located in the heart of the Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICADIII), situated in an ideal position for SMEs to serve the existing industrial & manufacturing hub and with access to world class transport links to serve local and international markets.
SMEs, which account for more than 94 per cent of the companies and 86 per cent of the total workforce in the UAE, are the chief enablers of economic diversification, innovation and the shift to a knowledge-based economy.
Planned, constructed, and operated under the highest technical and environmental standards, the new zone will feature competitive land lease rates with the option to purchase. The average unit size will be 500sqm but the project features flexible plot sizes that can be increased to 1500sqm and are fit-for-purpose for warehousing and light industrial units.
