DEWA awards construction contract for 132/11kV substation

Dubai – MENA Herald: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a construction contract for the development of the 132/11 kilovolt (kV) substation at Warsan 2, worth AED 74.6 million. The substation will be connected to the current electricity network, to enhance capacity, efficiency, credibility, and availability. In adherence with the directives of our wise leadership to achieve sustainable development for the whole community, DEWA is working to develop an integrated electricity infrastructure that performs to the highest levels of quality and efficiency. This reflects the UAE’s position as a global leader for competitiveness in electricity,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA. Al Tayer noted that this project’s main objective is to enhance and strengthen current electricity transmission networks to a capacity of 132/11Kv, by connecting substations to increase efficiency and accountability.

DEWA’s future objectives aim to increase the efficiency and accountability of its infrastructure, to aid economic growth and prosperity in Dubai. DEWA works to improve its electricity and water infrastructure, to meet increasing demands bourne by a rise in population, and the demand to improve existing infrastructure,” added Al Tayer.
