Dubai - MENA Herald: Tasjeel, a business unit of ENOC Retail, and the UAE’s one-stop-shop for all vehicle testing and registration needs, participated in the GCC Traffic Week 2016 held at The Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology, to promote road traffic safety, from 13-19 March, 2016.

Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director, ENOC Retail, said: “ENOC is committed to serving the UAE in the most innovative ways where we adapt new technologies to the needs of the driving public, coupled with the best infrastructure possible. However, nothing can replace safe driving which we continually promote in as many ways as possible through different partnerships with like-minded institutions.

“Every year we participate in the GCC Traffic Week, in cooperation with Sharjah Police, to raise public awareness on traffic safety and rules among all residents, especially the younger generation. Our efforts were well received this year.”

The GCC Traffic Week was held under the theme ‘Your Decision Determines Your Fate’.

Speaking on the occasion, Husam Al Shawi, Tasjeel General Manager, said: “This year, we extended our support to the event by conducting various community-awareness programmes to highlight the best measures and practices for reducing safety risks on roads.

“According to reports, 1,056 people have been killed in traffic accidents in the UAE since 2007 with Dubai police's traffic department alone reporting 33,886 traffic offences this month. This, in addition to the loss of human life which is priceless and irreplaceable, is also costing the economy billions every year. We all know that when we talk about road accidents, it is all of us who bear the brunt of the human and the economic loss, and it is up to us to make the difference. This is why Tasjeel is keen in participating and supporting such campaigns,” he added.

A business unit of ENOC Retail, Tasjeel undertakes all mandatory tests that are required for vehicle registration. It has nine branches in Dubai, Sharjah, Khorfakkan, and Hatta, and all are equipped with the latest testing and inspection machinery. The sites are manned by professionally qualified staff members, who provide technical advice to motorists.
