PALLADIUM GROUP, DNV GL, SEPHORA AMONG MAJOR ORGANISATIONS PREPARING TO INTERVIEW CANDIDATES AT CAREERS UAE

Dubai - MENA Herald: Top organisations from around the world are preparing to highlight a host of opportunities for UAE graduates, encouraging young professionals to launch their careers and join their teams at Careers UAE 2017, from 9-11 April at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

A rare opportunity in today’s competitive job market, candidates will come face-to-face with hiring personnel, and will have the chance to discuss the merits of their candidacy and potential for employment, marking a radical change from the current online climate which sees CVs disappear into a virtual void with scant prospect of human interaction.

This year, InternsME, the UAE’s largest internship platform, and Careers UAE have teamed up to bring young, bright Emirati talent face-to-face with hiring managers from some of the world’s top employers, including Palladium Group, DNV GL and Sephora at the InternsME Talent Hunt 2017. In this ‘speed interview’ format, perspective employees are exposed to a wealth of potential employers in brief, intense meetings that could end with a contract signing.

Speed interviewing events such as the InternsME Talent Hunt allow hiring managers to screen a wide variety of applicants quickly. The process benefits potential employees as well, providing applicants a chance to compare and contrast a relatively large pool of prospective opportunities in one session.

Fizza Sabir, Human Resources Manager, Middle East and Sub-Saharan Africa at DNV GL – Global Shared Services said: “Careers UAE is the ideal platform to provide support to young Emiratis looking to launch their careers, even signing employment contracts there and then. Events such as the InternsME Talent Hunt will allow us to meet a variety of candidates and observe their personalities as well as employability qualities that you wouldn’t necessarily get from simply reading a CV.”

Yassim Alkhatib, Global Key Accounts Intern at MasterCard, added: "InternsME Talent Hunt is how I managed to land my first work experience with Mastercard. It was an incredibly valuable experience that I could not have gained without the help of InternsME."

In addition to the InternsME Talent Hunt, which last year conducted over 550 interviews, Mission Possible will again be taking place at Careers UAE. The interactive treasure hunt will test candidate skills and knowledge from writing CVs to interview etiquette, whilst searching for clues and offering a fantastic range of prizes.

“We have worked hard with our partners to create features which will have a meaningful impact on our visitors and we know that both the Talent Hunt and Mission Possible provide Emirati job seekers with tangible help and advice when it comes to finding the right job. We expect these areas on the show floor to be hives of activity and I’m looking forward to hearing feedback from this year’s participants,” said Asma Al Sharif, Director of Exhibitions, Exhibitions & Events Management DWTC.

Companies from finance, retail, government and more, as well as staffing agencies such as Bayt.com and InternsME will be showcasing their support for young professionals and scouting for new talent at Careers UAE. Last year the event drew 17,813 visitors, with the 2017 edition set to welcome even more potential job applicants.

Careers UAE 2017 is open exclusively to UAE Nationals and HR practitioners. Female job seekers can enjoy ladies only access to the fair from 10:00 to 13:00 on Monday 10th April. For more information, please visit www.careersuae.ae.
