Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, has said the ministry will work to foster a culture of political participation in the country. Speaking at her first meeting with employees of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, H.E. Al Kaabi said the ministry will also activate cooperation between the Federal National Council and the government to improve government performance and strengthen parliamentary work to achieve the government of future.
H.E. Al Kaabi thanked President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, for expressing confidence in her and selecting her as the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs in the “UAE Future Government”.
H.E. Al Kaabi also thanked H.E. Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, for providing exceptional leadership to the ministry during the past period, enabling it to achieve remarkable success in improving the relationship between the Federal National Council and the government, and leading the country’s electoral development process.
This first meeting with ministry’s employees was attended by H.E. Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, H.E. Dr. Saeed Mohammed Al Ghafli, Assistant Under-Secretary for Federal National Council Affairs in the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, H.E. Sami bin Adi, Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services Sector, and directors of the departments.
H.E. Al Kaabi said that the ministry would work on developing an action plan in line with the goals of the government and its future vision, and create plans according to specific timetables to achieve the leadership vision. “The leadership has set strategic goals and a clear vision. We must work as one team to achieve that vision, develop programmes and initiatives for the first 100 days in order to meet the aspirations of our wise leadership,” HE. Al Kaabi added.
“Innovation and teamwork are the main directions for the UAE government. The achievement of these objectives requires enhanced communication between the leaders and employees, to identify opinions and innovative ideas that contribute to developing the work environment. They are also crucial to achieving the strategic objectives of the ministry and the UAE vision to be among the best countries in the world.”
H.E. Al Kaabi urged employees to work hard to participate effectively in the UAE’s development march in all fields, pointing out that during the last 10 years the ministry has achieved significant milestones in excellence and innovation in work and performance.
The Ministry of Federal National Council was established on 2006, and its functions include coordination between the government and the FNC, drafting of legislation related to the role of the FNC, and supervision of media affairs related to parliamentary practice.
The ministry is also developing frameworks for political development process in the community through educational awareness and outreach programmes.
