“DEWA implements a cutting-edge Integrated Management System policy, which supports health, safety and sustainability in our various sectors and operations. This includes the community and is not only restricted to DEWA’s employees. As a socially responsible organization, DEWA remains fully-committed to providing an inspiring an environment that is able to guarantee the health and safety of our employees, partners, developers, customers and stakeholders; and is dedicated to raising the standard of health and safety among the community.” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer.

“Our efforts have resulted in DEWA being recognised regionally and globally for health and safety. In fact, we were recently awarded the Sword of Honour for the eighth time in a row and the Globe of Honour for the fourth time in a row, by the British Safety Council. These distinctions were awarded in recognition of DEWA’s excellence in health and safety management and environmental awareness. DEWA is one of seven organisations worldwide to be awarded the Globe of Honour and one of 60 organisations worldwide to be awarded the Sword of Honour. For this year alone, we were one of only seven organisations, globally, who were awarded both. This is why I highly-appreciate the efforts and loyalty of our employees, because without them, none of these pioneering achievements would have been made,” said HE Al Tayer.

“DEWA is committed to enforcing the highest of international health and safety standards, with the aim of providing a happy, safe, and healthy environment for our employees, to whom we give priority. The move is expected to help educate our employees, making them more aware of health and safety regulations, to avoid any possible dangers, such as injuries and diseases in the work place. Reducing the number of hours wasted, will increase productivity and efficiency, as well as contribute to the satisfaction of our employees.” said Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA.

The event also saw the launch of DEWA’s new health and safety awareness campaign on social media channels, shedding light on the best methods and practices in the field of health and safety, which is aimed at raising the level of social awareness within schools, at home, and on the road. The awareness campaign also covers key topics like nutrition, first aid, fire safety and fitness.
