Dubai - MENA Herald: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), was handed the Marriage Endowment sign for young Emiratis. This supports the largest international endowment initiative launched by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, through the Mohammed bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy (MBRGCEC) and Dubai's global vision for Awqaf and Endowments. DEWA has a strategy that supports the vision to transform Dubai into a global centre for promoting and enabling endowment for the service of humanity. Dr. Hamad Al Hammadi, Secretary General of MBRGCEC, handed Al Tayer the Marriage Endowment sign. Khawla Al Mehairi, Vice President of Marketing & Corporate Communications at DEWA, and Marwan Bin Haider, Executive Vice President of Innovation and the Future at DEWA, were also present at the ceremony.
“We are honoured that DEWA has received the Marriage Endowment sign, and that DEWA has been announced as one of the first organisations to provide support for the Marriage Endowment sign. DEWA contributes to achieving Dubai's global vision for Awqaf and Endowments, which consists of eight themes.
These themes include a comprehensive strategy, a clear legislative environment, effective consultation, international best practices in the establishment and management of Awqaf and Endowment foundations, and maximising social impact through innovative opportunities. These underline four strategic themes, the first of which aims to transform Dubai into a catalyst to serve society through Awqaf and Endowments,” said Al Tayer.
“As a pioneering national organisation for economic and social development, DEWA supports the first strategic theme through marriage endowment to support the marriage of young Emiratis. This supports DEWA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy, which is part of Dubai's global vision for Awqaf and Endowments. This promotes building successful families for a cohesive society that keeps its identity and traditions, considering the family is the foundation for society to develop sustainably,” added Al Tayer.
“Since its launch six months ago, MBRGCEC has been working towards achieving the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. A large number of agreements have been signed between over 50 government entities, to participate in projects such as Awqaf, and Endowments. We are now handing marriage endowment signs to a number of other organisations and entities, to ease in the process of attaining the signs. DEWA was the first government organisation to uphold the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Nahyan, and supports social requirements through marriage endowment.
DEWA has become a pioneer and a role model for other government organisations in this field. I urge all government and private organisations to play a role through innovation endowment, and to communicate with MBRGCEC, to establish their ideal means for social contribution,” said Dr. Hamad Al Hammadi, Secretary General of MBRGCEC.
