ZonesCorp Signs MOU with Telecoms Regulatory Authority

Abu Dhabi - MENA Herald: ZonesCorp announces that it has signed an MOU with the Telecoms Regulatory Authority (TRA). Under the terms of the MOU, the TRA, acting through the United Arab Emirates Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT) will provide a number of advisory services to ZonesCorp relating to cybersecurity. The aim of this agreement is to ensure that ZonesCorp has a highly robust system in place to identify and effectively protect against and deal with online security threats.

As part of the MOU, aeCERT will provide ZonesCorp with consultation on how to better protect its data against online attacks, conduct comprehensive risk analysis, provide education and training for ZC personnel and provide alerts on real time threats and appropriate response measures.

HE Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority said: Given the ultra-reliance on telecommunications and IT in today’s business environment, there is an ever present cyber security risk. The TRA and aeCERT adopts the latest and most sophisticated methods to ward off these risks or minimize them in order to ensure a healthy environment throughout the country. We are working in collaboration with ZonesCorp and a number of other specialized UAE institutions & authorities, to ensure that they have the highest levels cyber security across all their operations. This is an integral part of our strategic goal maintaining our national security. The Authority will be working closely with ZonesCorp to ensure quality and continuity of information and communications, to maintain the confidentiality of information and securing against any potential cyberattacks.

Naturally a key element of this transition is to ensure the security and confidentiality of government services and information using the most sophisticated and secure technology available.
