Saturday 09 July 2016

Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) said the upcoming Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016), held under the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of DEWA, will witness the largest display of green solutions in the exhibition’s history, in response to the regional industrial demand.
“To achieve the vision of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, WETEX is highlighting the importance of adopting green solutions and their economic and environmental benefits to stakeholders in water, energy and environment. Year after year, the exhibition contributes to the implementation of the long-term national Green Economy for Sustainable Development initiative, by bringing new solutions in energy, water and environment under one roof in Dubai,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, and Founder and President of WETEX.
WETEX’s next exhibition targets a diverse range of institutions and customers. It also coincides with the inaugural Dubai Solar Show, a new specialised exhibition in the construction, operation, distribution, storage and management of solar energy technologies. An exceptional turn out of visitors to Green Week is expected this year while attending the 18th WETEX and 1st Dubai Solar Show.
“Every year at WETEX, we add new green products to the displayed solutions. This year, and following an in-depth study, we sensed the need for a specialised platform for solar energy technologies through the Dubai Solar Show. The products on display are not only dedicated for organisations but also for consumers in line with the conservation initiatives and programmes, which also serve our strategy for green transformation,” added Al Tayer.
“The two exhibitions will showcase green building solutions, electric cars, and DEWA’s charging stations, smart grids, and many home appliances and eco-friendly products. A wide range of manufacturers, distributors and investors, products, concepts and services, will be present to support the objective of WETEX to establish the concept of sustainable development to preserve natural resources for generations to come,” concluded Al Tayer.
WETEX will be held from 4–6 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, in conjunction with the Dubai Solar Show. Over three days, DEWA will also organise seminars and workshops opening the floor for participants to discuss the latest trends and technologies in energy and water conservation. DEWA has conducted several trips globally to promote the exhibitions and confirm participation.
