Sharjah - MENA Herald: Sharjah Tatweer Forum and Sharjah eGovernment have recently signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signalling the start of a strategic new partnership aimed towards further promoting the Sharjah Leadership Program (SLP), an initiative aimed towards developing leaders who are well informed and focused on the development of the emirate. The newly formed alliance is expected to play a key role in the continuing efforts to enhance and improve innovative leadership while also rendering strong support for Sharjah’s quest for global competitiveness—which is part of the vision of His Highness (H.H.) Dr. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Under the terms of the agreement, both parties have committed themselves to working closely together to achieve fruitful cooperation, common goals and reinforced cooperation to promote sustainable development. The STF as a first partner and Sharjah eGovernment as a second partner will implement initiatives and programs aimed towards disseminating a culture of innovation and encourage young people to develop leadership skills. These would also include scheduled site visits to the Sharjah eGovernment headquarters to introduce SLP candidates with the latest developments and trends in smart, e-governance and information technologies. In turn, Sharjah eGovernment will support and sponsor SLP via helping enhance its goals, promote it accordingly and nominating potential candidates to take part in the program.

Sheikh Khalid Bin Ahmed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General, Sharjah eGovernment, expressed his appreciation for STF's efforts to further the development of human resources and encouraging emerging young leaders in the emirate. He also cited the success and achievements of SLP, which has developed a new generation of entrepreneurs with strong leadership skills and promising business ideas.

"The new partnership between STF and Sharjah eGovernment is a value-added strategy to the march towards excellence and leadership--especially in the field of rehabilitating, training and developing citizenship. The partnership comes in line with the objectives of Sharjah's budget for 2016, which has allocated a large share to promote local programs aimed at achieving sustainable development and providing an integrated and attractive work environment for new graduates and competencies of citizenship,” concluded Al Qasimi.

“The new strategic cooperation with Sharjah eGovernment helps in moving our joint efforts forward, towards building a better and brighter future for the community of citizens and residents in Sharjah in line with its vision to improve the process of training and development of leadership competencies for the youth,” said Jassem Albloushi, Chairman, STF. “As a government, we are optimistic about this new partnership as both STF and Sharjah eGovernment share the vision and goals to achieve the aspirations of empowering youth and providing them with the skills and knowledge that qualifies them optimally—allowing them to take over the helm and the completion of the process of change and enhance the development of Sharjah.”

The STF has recently launched the fourth edition of SLP, which aims to enhance the capabilities of the competencies of citizenship and enhance the spirit of innovation and creativity, knowledge and leadership through its candidates, in accordance with the objectives of the national strategy for innovation and Vision 2021. The program, which will start on mid-November 2016 and will continue to May 2017, is being organized under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and the Honorary President of STF. SLP is supported by the Ministry of Economy; Bee’ah Sharjah Environment Company; Emirates Islamic; Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Sharjah Business Women’s Council; Petrofac; Snoc; Sharjah Islamic Bank; Etihad Airways; E-Government and University City – Sharjah.
