Sharjah Chamber organizes UAE-Europe Business Forum next Wednesday

Sharjah - MENA Herald: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) is all set to host the 7th UAE-Europe Business Forum next Wednesday.
The Forum, organised in cooperation with the London Chamber of Commerce & Industry comes as part of SCCI’s efforts to introduce the attractive investment environment and opportunities in Sharjah and its diversified economy to the investors in a step towards more promotion to the emirate as a favourite destination of business and investment in the region and worldwide.
The Forum aims at helping the European business community identify the incentives and advantages Sharjah can offer, and the efforts the local government authorities do to facilitate and attract more European investors to start their businesses in Sharjah.
The Forum will help enhance partnerships and increase bilateral trade exchange between Sharjah and the European countries through talks and business networking for more cooperation between the two sides.
The UAE-Europe forum serves as a platform that helps the local business community to network with the European peers and exchange knowledge and experience. There will also be bilateral talks between businessmen on the sidelines of the Forum to discuss further investment opportunities.
The visiting delegations will include more than 50 companies from Britain, Belgium, Italy, Greece, Hungary, and Lithuania. These companies are active in architecture, renewable energy, oil and gas, education, fashion, IT, food and beverages, construction, consultations, and health care.
Commenting on the event that will take place in September, H.E. Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry said: “This Forum comes in line with the wise vision of H.H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It will run under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah. We aim to turn the Emirate into a first choice destination for investment as part of the economic diversification strategy adopted by Sharjah government”.
Al Owais added:” The European trade delegation will include some of the most prominent CEO’s and businessmen from different sectors. This will be an excellent networking chance for us to introduce and represent our Emirate and its attractive investment environment and to build new partnerships between Sharjah and the European countries”.
Al Owais explained the Forum will seek to attract European companies especially the ones active in healthcare, environment, tourism, logistics, education, solar energy and IT, amongst others. He highlighted the importance of holding such events that help build stronger partnerships.
The Forum will commence with a welcome speech followed by a speech from Peter Bishop, head of the European trade delegation and vice president of London Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The speeches will be followed by a presentation from Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) around the most important economic and investment pillars for the UAE and the incentives that the emirate will provide, plus the geographic strategic location and the advanced infrastructure. Networking between the attendants will conclude the event.
Separately, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry will participate in a business forum with the Omani Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s delegation in Batina Governorate in Oman on 5th September 2016. The Forum will see both sides discuss the best means to cooperate and enhance partnerships. The Omani delegation, headed by H.E Hamoud bin Salim bin Mohammed Al Sadi Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, will comprise a number of prominent business people and officials from South Batinah Governorate.
