Ras Al Khaimah - MENA Herald: Ras Al Khaimah Media Office (RAKMO) and the Middle East Public Relations Association (MEPRA) joined forces recently to hold Ras Al Khaimah’s 2nd MEPRA Connect forum at the Cove Rotana Resort. The event featured presentations from LinkedIN, Hill+Knowlton Strategies and the MEPRA Board and was attended by over 40 Ras Al Khaimah communications professionals from both the government and private sector.

The presentations focussed on ways to maximise the utilisation and effect of social media to benefit organisations and individuals. Topic areas covered included the latest developments in social media, how to maximise the value of your and your organisation’s profile on LinkedIn and of the professional connections within your specialist area. An additional presentation by Iman Issa, Deputy General Manager of Hill+Knowlton Strategies, introduced the audience to key presentation skills and practices.

Martin Norris, Director, RAK Media Office said: “The collaboration we have with MEPRA to bring this series to Ras Al Khaimah has already been fruitful. Not only is it a great education tool for our RAK communicators but it also introduces them to the latest range of service options that agencies can provide, and is a regular networking platform for the RAK communications community. When you get communicators together in the same room from such diverse entities as Julphar, RAK Police Department, Public Works and Services, RAK Transport Authority, the American University (AURAK), Al Qasimi Foundation, RAK Tourism Development Authority, RAK FTZ, the Waste Management Authority and our various hotels, connections begin happen that lead to information sharing, co-operation and co-ordination.”
The RAK MEPRA Connect series will resume in September.
