Nikken opens new ‘designer’ office in Dubai

Dubai - MENA Herald: Japanese architect Nikken Sekkei, one of the largest design firms in the world, employing almost 2,500 professional staff, has recently opened a new office in Dubai. The stylish new office on the 29th floor of the impressive Burj Al Salam Tower on Sheikh Zayed Road, is opposite the Dubai World Trade Centre and was inaugurated recently by Nikken’s CEO and President, Mr. Tadao Kamei.

“Dubai was originally chosen as the regional hub for Nikken Sekkei due to its excellent transport infrastructure, which has allowed the company to grow by being close to our partners in many neighboring countries,” commented Mr. Kamei. 

The office is designed to provide state of the art touch down facilities for Nikken Sekkei design teams and will serve as a base for other Nikken Group companies which include specialised interior design firms, such as Nikken Space Design, Nikken Housing System, Nikken Sekkei Civil and the think tank - Nikken Sekkei Research Institute,” said Mr. Kamei.

The new facilities will serve the firm’s increased workload in 20 cities throughout the region and beyond to India and the CIS countries. It will allow Nikken to grow its design team in the region, providing additional support for its partners.

Commenting on the design aspects of the new Dubai office, regional director and recently appointed member of the board of directors Dr. Fadi Jabri said:
