MD & CEO receives Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UAE

Dubai - MENA Herald: HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), received HE Frank J.M. Mollen, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UAE, and Lotte Schippers, ‎Head of the Economic Department and Deputy Head of Mission at the Dutch Consulate General. This is one of a series of visits by diplomatic and consular officials to DEWA to explore relations, exchange expertise and promote mutual cooperation. Dr. Yousef Al Akraf, Executive Vice President of Business Support and Human Resources at DEWA, and Ahmed Abdullah, Senior Manager of External Communications, also attended.
During the visit, Al Tayer welcomed the guests and highlighted the prominent development projects and the series of strategic initiatives undertaken by DEWA in Dubai. This included the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the Hassyan clean coal power plant, smart grids, and DEWA’s three smart initiatives to support the Smart Dubai initiative.
The Ambassador commended the efforts of DEWA to develop the UAE’s energy sector, and particularly in Dubai. He expressed his interest in participating in the 18th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2016), which has become a well-known specialist exhibition in the calendar of important shows in Dubai, and is also interested in taking part in the Dubai Solar Show 2016.
Al Tayer emphasised that WETEX has strengthened its position as an ideal platform to discuss important topics relevant to energy, water, natural resources, conservation and sustainable development. The exhibition will be held in conjunction with the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) 2016 from 4–6 October at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
