Leading global innovation speakers will add value to Dubai Chamber International Conference

Dubai - MENA Herald: Global innovation speakers from the world’s leading organisations will add value to the Dubai Chamber International Conference offering valuable insights on institutional performance and innovation during the launch of the 9th cycle of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award on November 24 at Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights.

The Conference will be attended by H.E. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy, and Chairman of the Award Panel of Judges, Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award, and a beehive of local and international speakers.

Organised under the theme “The Innovation Economy: Nurturing an Ecosystem for Innovation, Excellence, and Value Creation,” the International Conference will address the fundamentals of developing a sustainable innovation-based ecosystem in line with the UAE Vision 2021 to move towards a more innovation-driven knowledge economy.

Making their presence felt during the day-long International Conference are internationally renowned business excellence, technology, and innovation experts, as well as policy makers, including amongst others, Dr. Jean-Eric Aubert, Former Lead Specialist at The World Bank and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Founder and President, SIGN Institute France.

Dr. Aubert, who will talk about Driving Economic Growth Through Innovation: Drivers and Challenges, said that Governments have a decisive role to play to create a conducive innovation environment. This can be done through a solid technical and entrepreneurial education, supporting innovative projects with efficient incentives and programmes and by getting rid of bureaucratic or anticompetitive obstacles to innovative initiatives, he said.

Another prominent speaker, Jonathan Oliver, Global Head of Innovation, Microsoft, will talk about the importance of technology in shaping the future of innovation and enhancing the customer’s experience while Tristan Kromer, a well-known Entrepreneur, Lean Start-up Coach, and Innovation Ecosystem Designer from Silicon Valley, US, who will speak on “The Lean Startup Approach: Reducing the Cost of Innovation and Building a Startup Ecosystem” will focus on how modern companies are measuring innovation and increasing the speed at which they test market demand of disruptive technologies based on six key ingredients to an Innovation Ecosystem.

On his part, Sunil Sinha, Resident Director, Tata Sons MENA, will shed light on how Business Excellence Models help organisations to improve performance and create value to the stakeholders informed that at a deeper level the Business Excellence framework helps in positively changing mind-sets which are conducive for long-term value creation while evoking trust among all stakeholders.

Other speakers offering their insights on innovation are Khalid Al Khudair, Founder and CEO, Glowork, KSA, talking about Beating the Odds: Turning Uncertainty into Breakthrough Opportunities, Prof. Ir. Kas Oosterhuis, Creative Director, VAA.ONL, and Innovation Studio Professor, Hyperbody TU Delft, The Netherlands, speaking on Unchaining the Building Industry and Ms. Susan Chong, CEO, Greenpac, Singapore Quality Award Winner 2014, Singapore, who will talk about Quest for Innovation: The Sustainable Path to Competitive Advantage.
