Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, MJ Akbar, to speak at UAE India Economic Forum 2016

Dubai - MENA Herald: Indian Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, has been invited to inaugurate the second edition of the UAE-India Economic Forum. Set to take place on 19-20 October, 2016 – the forum, hosted by the Consulate General of India, Dubai - will feature a high-profile speaker line-up including the Indian Minister of State for External Affairs, MJ Akbar, who will deliver a keynote address on the second day of the highly anticipated forum.

A number of ministers, policy makers and business leaders from India and the UAE will speak at the forum while senior Government of India officials are scheduled to present case studies and investment opportunities in ports, railways, roads and wayside amenities. Officials representing major Indian states are also expected to participate in the panel discussions.

The event will also see the presence of experts like D K Sen, Senior Executive Vice-President (Infrastructure) Larsen & Toubro, India; Pascal Gauvin, CEO, Intercontinental Hotels Group, UAE; Rajesh Mehta, Chairman, Rajesh Exports, India and Ashish Chauhan, CEO & MD, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Ltd. amongst others.

H.E Marwan Bin Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO, Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), UAE, will also be present at the forum and will represent Shurooq, the driving force behind the transformation of Sharjah. Deepak Bagla, CEO, Invest India, Ministry of Commerce and Industry will also participate at the event as a speaker.

Dr. Ankur Dana, CEO, Dana Group of Companies, a participant in the Healthcare session at the forum, said, "Indians living in UAE, still have a strong bond. As a small gesture to give back Dana Shivam Hospital in Vidhyadharnagar was established. The other project in India is Dana Hotel: A Four Star Hotel Project in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. This 100 crore Dana Hotel project will span across 10,000 square meters, with 200 luxury suites, and 4 ballrooms. The project is situated in Jagatpura, just near the New Jaipur International Airport. This is Dana Group’s second investment project in India in the past year and the group has been actively looking for investment opportunities in India."

The event is supported by the Ministry of Economy, UAE, Consulate General of India, Dubai, UAE International Investors Council, Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Invest India and Abu Dhabi Global Market. The two-day forum will take place at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai, UAE.
