Dubai - MENA Herald: Dulsco, a regional leader in human resource solutions and waste management services, and Port of Fujairah jointly hosted a training session on ‘Safety Leadership’ for industry professionals across UAE. This is along the sidelines that UAE strictly follows international safety standards within the industrial and manufacturing sector and its endeavour for zero incidences at any workplace.

Industries in Fujairah have been constantly working towards enhancing the safety culture in the Emirate. Industry leaders from the port and leading names across the industrial and manufacturing sector came together for the session on ‘Safety Leadership’ conducted recently. This session enabled them to collectively gain the desired knowledge on spearheading safety practices and standards in their organizations and also provided them with the correct tools to further enhance industrial safety standards. Over 45 industry leaders from different emirates joined the event.

Capt. Mohamed Hassan from Port of Fujairah commented, “This was a great platform to upgrade ones knowledge on safety practices and network with professionals from the industry in Fujairah. Port of Fujairah is pleased to be associated with this important safety initiative. We are hopeful that the new ideas discussed at the session will not only benefit the industries and its employees but also the other companies in the region. This event will ensure that excellent safety procedures are being implemented in employees’ day-to-day duties and we look forward to conducting such events in the future along with Dulsco.”

The practice of safety brings physical, emotional, environmental and financial benefits to the table. The safety training workshop was conducted by distinguished consultant Mr. Colin Moffat of the International HSE Council. The session on ‘Safety Leadership’ was well received by the participants who were awarded certificates on successful completion of the program. The session gave participants insights on the leaders’ responsibility to set standards, implement safety plans and build a positive safety culture.

“Last year, Dulsco joined hands with Port of Fujairah to host an event highlighting safety at worksites where industry leaders shared best practices in safety to encourage peer learning. After the overwhelming success of the Fujairah Industry meet last year, we are pleased that Port of Fujairah and Dulsco to have jointly hosted an exclusive training session on 'Safety Leadership'. As leaders, the responsibility of the employees’ safety lies in the organisation’s hands. This thought had influenced many partakers to join the training session and discuss and address safety issues within the working environment,” said Prakash Parab, Director HR Solutions, Dulsco.

Dulsco also organises its QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) Week every year. With over 300 events ranging from fire drills, quiz, safety talks and other initiatives, the QHSE Week successfully addresses the importance of QHSE amongst Dulsco’s 12,000 employees across UAE and Qatar.
