DuPont Sustainable Solutions participate in Asset Integrity and Process Safety conference in Doha

Dubai - MENA Herald: DuPont Sustainable Solutions (DSS) participates at this year’s Asset Integrity and Process Safety (AIPS) World, a conference designed for professionals associated with reliability, integrity and safety of field assets, which is held on October 27 and 28, 2015 in Doha, Qatar. The summit is expected to cover key techniques and functions related to asset management for sectors like mining, oil and gas, petrochemicals, power generation, power distribution or renewable energy. During the first day’s afternoon session, Franco Polli, OpEx Solutions Architect, DuPont Sustainable Solutions, Middle East shared his industry knowledge and expertise, particularly on the significance of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance (MIQA) across maintaining safety in today’s oil and gas industry.

The concept of MIQA aims to ensure the integrity of a system’s capacity to contain hazardous materials and energy-from the manufacturing phase to its installation and throughout the operations of the facility. MIQA is also effective in mitigating the effects of process safety incidents through the use of strategic and well-maintained safety interlocks and protective devices. MIQA plays a crucial role in preventing loss of containment incidents by ensuring the capacity of all components of the system and it is considered the foundation of asset productivity.
