Dubai Smart Government signs MoU with Dubai Health Authority to provide support for electronic and smart services

Dubai - MENA Herald: Dubai Smart Government Department (DSG) and Dubai Health Authority (DHA) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), under which DSG will provide technical support to the electronic and smart shared services provided to DHA in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for Dubai government entities' services to be available round the clock.

The MoU signed by both parties mandates that DSG will provide the necessary support to the package of electronic and smart shared services to DHA and also specifies the levels of support and priority-based response period as necessary to fulfil the leadership's vision of combining efforts to fulfill Dubai Vision 2021 and the ultimate goal of bringing happiness to customers. These services include the Government Resources Planning Systems (GRPS), Government Information Network (GIN), MyID, ePay, Government Service Bus, Correspondence Tracking System, SMS Dubai, eSurvey, Happiness Meter, eHost, eComplain, eSuggest etc. The two parties also agreed to hold regular meetings to discuss the commitment to providing support to the shared services to fulfill the agreed on key performance indicators and operating objectives.

H.E. Ahmad Bin Humaidan, DSG Director General, said: "This step serves the goal of consolidating the transformation to smart government and proves that we are working as a connected and collaborative government to meet customers' needs and enhance services and policies in line with their requirements. DSG is putting its sophisticated infrastructure and enablers at the disposal of DHA considering that the health sector serves a large section of the society and that maintaining the continuity and efficiency of the shared services used by DHA would bring more satisfaction and happiness to citizens and residents."

Bin Humaidan added: "We are working as per a strategy that has been approved by Dubai Executive Council chaired by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and First Deputy Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. The strategy conforms with the government's future trends and features 7 smart and distinctive strategic initiatives that should be implemented within 3 years: smart services for bringing happiness to customers, smart shared systems, smart participation, smart adoption, smart enablement of human resources, smart information security, smart data and smart management towards the provision of connected government services in such a manner that focuses on customers and their preferences in line with the smart policies approved by the prudent leadership.”  

Meanwhile, H.E. Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director General of DHA, underlined DHA's keenness on keeping pace with the tremendous developments in the world of technology and focusing on the best smart and innovative solutions in which the UAE in general and Dubai in particular succeeded in having a clear imprint worldwide. He also underscored DHA's great interest to lead the major government entities with the services provided to the general public, noting that the MoU signed with DSG would support DHA's trends and enhance its efforts to achieve this goal.

Al Qatami valued DSG's key role and remarkable contribution to the unique transformations of all Dubai departments and entities. He also praised DSG’s methodology of work and interest in pushing DHA's efforts to achieve its aspirations for providing high-quality services that conform in terms of standards with those of DSG.

DHA is proud of strengthening its partnership with DSG and appreciates working with it, Al Qatami said, noting that DHA is set to build new partnerships with the relevant competent entities including the private sector and is open to society for the purpose of achieving its objectives of upgrading its services to meet the satisfaction and gain the trust of customers.

Earlier, DSG has been awarded ISO 20000:2011 for IT service management which proves its commitment to the global IT standards for improving the performance of services in general and makes it highly qualified for effectively providing support services to government entities.
