Deyaar Development Lays Foundations for School in Nepal

Dubai - MENA Herald: Deyaar Development PJSC, a customer-focused, trusted and valued developer with in-depth market intelligence and property management expertise, today broke ground on a new school project it has embraced in Nepal as part of the Dubai Cares ‘Adopt a School’ initiative.

As part of Deyaar’s sustained CSR strategy, the developer decided to join hands with the Dubai Cares philanthropic organisation in the aftermath of the mega earthquake that rocked the Himalayan country earlier this year. An agreement was signed by Saeed Al Qatami, CEO, Deyaar Development, and Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares.

As per the agreement, Deyaar will completely build up the school in the western region of Nepal and equip it with furniture, educational resources and gender specific latrines. Some 150 students will benefit from the school project. Deyaar has assigned a team of its employees to volunteer their time and effort in supporting the construction of the school. Once complete, the school will also offer adult literacy programmes to 60 women.

Speaking at the commencement of the project, Mona Al Tamimi, ‎Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications at Deyaar, said: “One of the core pillars of Deyaar’s strategy is our focus on corporate social responsibility, whereby the company seeks to achieve the Dubai government’s vision of helping local and international communities to make a difference in people’s lives. We are honoured and delighted to be a part of Dubai Cares’ ‘Adopt a School’ initiative that will benefit generations to come.”

She added: “It has been an enriching cultural experience for our team to participate in laying the foundation of the school. We are truly humbled by the warm welcome and heartfelt appreciation we have already received for our efforts in building an educational institution in the village.”
