Huawei Appoints Abigail Sarah Brody as Chief Designer of User Experience (UX)

Dubai - MENA Herald: Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG) today announced the appointment of Abigail Sarah Brody as Chief Designer of User Experience (UX). In her new role, Brody will lead a team of 80 UI designers in developing creative UI design experiences and the look and feel for Huawei Consumer BG’s range of leading smart device products. In conjunction with Brody’s appointment, Huawei Consumer Business Group is also in the process of establishing a UX R&D design studio in Silicon Valley or San Francisco in the United States.

Brody is a graduate of the Art Center College of Design (ACCD) in Pasadena, California, one of the top design colleges in the United States. Prior to joining Huawei, she provided senior expertise and design strategy consulting services to various well-known technology and IT brands. Earlier in her career, she served as Vice President of Global Design at eBay/PayPal, as well as Creative Director at Apple where she developed and designed numerous landmark products in the course of a decade while working with the late Steve Jobs, most notably the first release of the iPhone and iOS1.

The appointment of Ms. Brody is part of Huawei’s on-going efforts to recruit top-class talent from around the world as the company further grows its leadership in the global consumer electronics market. At present, Huawei has 16 R&D centers worldwide including The Paris Aesthetics Research Center; The London Design Center; an Algorithm Research Center in Russia; a R&D Center in Japan; and a Software R&D Center in India. In addition, the company operates a R&D Center focusing on spectrum, OS and chipset development in the US as well as an R&D Center in Europe specializing in 5G network technology.
