Borouge highlights locally made petrochemical innovations at ArabPlast 2017

Dubai - MENA Herald: Leading UAE petrochemicals company, Borouge, highlighted its portfolio of locally made and developed innovative, value creating plastics solutions at regional rubber, plastics and petrochemicals industry trade show, ArabPlast 2017.

Borouge employees were on hand at the company’s pavilion in Dubai World Trade Centre to raise awareness on its unique-to-the-world plastics innovations and show visitors from across the globe the various polymer grades that cater to infrastructure, energy, packaging, healthcare and agriculture sectors among others. Borouge is currently participating in ArabPlast 2017 as Principal Sponsor.

Borouge started with a single 450,000 tonnes per year production facility in Ruwais in 2001 which also marked the birth of the plastics industry in the UAE. Today, the company is the proud owner of the world’s largest integrated polyolefin complex with a production capacity of 4.5 million tonnes of differentiated polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) pellets.

“Many of our unique polymer grades have also resulted from our Innovation Centre in Abu Dhabi, with more than 15% of annual sales volume being derived directly from products developed at the Centre,” added Al Suwaidi.
