Dubai - MENA Herald: Subscribers of OSN in the UAE, the region’s leading pay-TV network, can now tune into all nine popular radio brands under the Arabian Radio Network (ARN) on their television.

This follows the signing of a milestone agreement between OSN and ARN. Following the simulcast distribution agreement, access to the ARN Network will be added to each OSN subscriber package free of cost.

David Butorac, CEO of OSN, said: “Our simulcast distribution agreement with ARN is an industry-first in the region that provides a wider choice of entertainment for our subscribers in the UAE at no extra cost. It marks a compelling integration of content delivered via television, adding value to our subscribers, and enhancing the reach of ARN.

“This pioneering initiative underlines our commitment to innovate on the entertainment choices that we offer, and to create a one-source window, whereby OSN serves as the definitive go-to platform for all forms of entertainment – television, radio and digital. The diversity of ARN’s nine brands in their language of broadcast and content means the entire community is assured of programmes of their choice via OSN right in their living rooms.”

Following the agreement, ARN’s prime-time, award-winning programming will now be available via multi broadcast media – radio, online, digital, smartphone and now, via live satellite TV. ARN’s advertisers, wanting to reach to the network’s large and diversified audience across carefully segment programming, can now reach out to their target audience via OSN.

Mahmoud Al Rasheed, General Manager of ARN, said: “Our partnership with OSN represents a united industry involvement in future innovations. ARN is set to expand rapidly, offering our customers and listeners more choices across additional platforms adding to on-air, online, digital, smartphone and now via TV.”

Steve Smith, COO of ARN, added: “The OSN platform is a simple, powerful offer for our listeners. The best sound system in the home is connected to TV and now our radio listeners can enjoy our leading brands on this fantastic platform. This partnership is another signal that the radio industry is accelerating cross-industry innovation.”

OSN has introduced several path-breaking content additions this year with the launch of seven new channels including BBC First HD, OSN First HD Home of HBO, OSN Ya Hala Cinema HD, OSN Movies Family HD, H2, Discovery Family and IDX. Several more premium and exclusive high definition channels will come on board over the next few months.
